The North American debut of Tungsram was the Aapex show in Las Vegas where the automotive team set up a booth.
Aapex is the biggest automotive aftermarket show in the US (joined by the spectecular SEMA auto show), and Tungsram was the only exhibitor from Hungary. Joerg Bauer, Gabriella Mózes GM of automotive and Carlos Daniel marketing director visited the booth, had plenty of meetings and interviews, and met the North American team who became Tungsram employees on November 1.
’We had a lot of meetings with customers from the US, Canada, Mexico, even from Honduras’ Joerg Bauer said. ’They were really great meetings, they liked our story and would like to work with us. It is the true American spirit that they give a chance to the new kid on the block, even if we are the old new kid on the block with our 122 years of history.’
’Our meetings were very good, very promising, we see a lot of new opportunities in the future’ said Gabriella Mózes,.
The North American team was in a very special position at the show, since they arrived to Las Vegas as GE employees and left as official members of the Tungsram family.
’We are very excited about the transition, there is a lot of support coming from Tungsram that we had not have under GE Lighting’ Robert E. Gill, the manager of the North America sales team said. ’Now we have the next 18-24 months to change our inventory to Tungsram.’
Ricardo Fragnito in charge of sales in Canada added: ’The Canadian market seems to be happy about the transition and while the products are the same, the new brand is really promising’.
For a lighting company, Las Vegas, the city of lights is the best place to be, and team published a number of special videos from there, that can be watched on our Facebook and Linkedin site.
